Smoky Marinara

Comments: Goes with Four Cheese Stuffed Shells. I used the recommended Muir Glen fire roasted canned tomatoes. Very good.


1 T olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 C chopped fresh basil
2 T chopped fresh parsley
2 T chopped fresh or 2 t dried oregano
2 t balsamic vinegar
1/8 t salt
1/8 t black pepper
1 (28oz) can crushed fire-roasted tomatoes, undrained
1 (28oz) can crushed tomatoes, undrained


  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over med heat.
  2. Add garlic, basil, parsley, and oregano; sauté 1 minute, stirring frequently.
  3. Stir in vinegar and remaining ingredients. Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes.
