Peach Frozen Yogurt
|
Yield: 8 servings
Source: Random internet source (I think it came from recipesource.com?)
Amy's Comments: I recommend using a blender to puree your peaches, NOT a food processor (trust me here, please! I learned the hard way!). This
tasted JUST like peach yogurt, frozen LOL which is I guess what it should taste like for lowfat. I was expecting it to be a bit creamier, but it's still good. My husband loved it!
INGREDIENTS:
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1 cup fat-free skim milk
1/2 cup sugar
dash of salt
2 1/2 cups vanilla yogurt - low fat
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cup frozen sliced peaches - pureed
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Sprinkle gelatin over milk in a saucepan; let stand 1 minute. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until gelatin dissolves.
- Remove from heat, add sugar and a dash of salt, stirring until sugar dissolves. Stir in yogurt, vanilla, and peaches. Cover and chill.
- Pour yogurt mixture into the freezer can of a 4-quart ice cream maker; freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. Serve immediately or store in freezer.
