Random Ramblings of a Blonde Woman….

Back from the pediatrician!! Sydney weighed in today at 10 lbs, 12 oz!! She’s in the 50th percentile for weight! She is now 24″ long which puts her in the 95th percentile for height! She’s tall and skinny The doctor thinks she looks great and is doing great with her milestones. She was especially impressed with how well Sydney holds her head up when on her belly!! The shots were hard on both of us! Thank god Larry went with me because he had to hold her arms down. Sydney WAILED and I couldn’t help but cry. It was a hard sound to listen to She’s pretty fussy now, but I’m hoping that a nap is in her near future!

In other news - Lisa & Rob had their baby yesterday!! They welcomed a little girl named Nyssa into the world! I could not be happier for them! I’m going over to the hospital tonight after Larry gets home - I’m so excited to meet her!! So CONGRATS Lisa and Rob!!!! Sydney is very excited to have a new friend

Maria, Greg, and Gabriel sent Sydney some ADORABLE clothes!!! She is wearing one of her new dresses today! We’re off to the pediatrician for the dreaded shots, but I figured she might as well do it in style More later!!

We were in Pittsburgh from Thursday of last week until Monday. We had a GREAT trip!! Sydney got to meet her Pop (Larry’s dad) and Nanny (Larry’s stepmom ). I think it’s safe to say there was lots of love all around!!! She also got to meet Aunt Dee, Uncle Ricky, Larry’s cousin’s family, etc… it was a BUSY weekend! She flew like a champ and even slept the entire way to/from the airport in Orlando! GO SYDNEY!!!!

I have a ton of pics that I need to upload but in the meantime, I have a pic for Nana. My mom brought me all of these Feltman Brothers dresses & day gowns that my sister and I used to wear when we were little. I figured today was as good of a day as any to wear the yellow one. I think it might have been Courtney’s but anyway, it’s cute! We went to Publix and that was our big outing, but she looked mighty cute in it The color on the picture sucks. For whatever reason, the lighting in the nursery is horrible and I don’t have a really good editor software…

I’ll work on the vacation pics and some video tonight if Sydney decides she wants to go to bed at a decent hour (lord help me!!). Tomorrow she goes to the pediatrician for her 2 month checkup and her shots so that should be a big day! We also are going to stop by the daycare. They called today to confirm her spot. They said she can be in no later than the 6th of October. I have to go back to work on the 22nd of September, but my neighbor Michelle offered to watch her in the interim - thank you Michelle!!!! Anyway, we have to go by to pick up some paperwork for that. I can’t believe I have to go back to work in 2.5 weeks! Maternity leave has just flown by!!!

That wraps up the last week really Tropical storm Fay came down on us at the end of last week. It was nice because they closed the county and Larry got to stay home with us (and I think I might get paid for those days too, even though I was on maternity leave!!!). We got a TON of rain - well over a foot. Thankfully our neighborhood isn’t flood-prone so it didn’t bother us too much. I’m shocked to say this, but we even kept the power on! It was awesome!!!

So the rain brought ants. In general, FL is built on an ant hill. This is a known fact. What I tend to forget is that the ants hate it when it rains and they run for cover. IN OUR HOUSE. UGH. We must have a door that’s not 100% sealed or something, because this morning I found a bazillion ants in our family room. So lucky me gets to take apart the furniture and the rug, run the vacuum, spray ant spray, wait, then return all of the furniture. FUN huh?! I think I killed them all, but what a pain!!

While Larry was home, I think Sydney got a little spoiled having 2 sets of hands available 24-7. Monday she was a holy terror. Ok, terror is a bit strong. She was just, ummm strong willed maybe?! She did NOT nap. She just wanted to be held. She cried for no reason. About 3pm I was ready for a shot of tequila. I also got lucky enough to have night duty because Lar had something he had to do last night. By 10 pm, I wanted to run screaming!!! Thankfully, she realized she had pushed the limit and she slept until 545!! Larry got up with her and I slept until about 7. Thank the lord!

So I have a few new pics. Nothing too crazy has been going on here, so they’re just pics of Sydney being her general cute self! I’ve been playing around with the graphics editor program that I have, hence the black & white and stuff…. Oh and 1 more pic just because life isn’t crazy enough. Right now there is a showdown on the rug in the family room. I dont know why Ziggy insists on sitting so close to Iddy. They hate each other. There is growling and wailing going on as if to say “mommmmmm she’s looking at me!!”. Never a dull moment.

I’m off to symphony chorus rehearsl tonight! The season opener is tonight - we’re rehearsing Turandot! WOOHOO! Happy Tuesday to you all
